Great CoolerJun 29, 2011

We are an Amazon Prime member and ordered this item on Tuesday - it was delivered on Thursday with free shipping - love that PRIME program! Anyway - the cooler is well made and held a ton of soda and beer for a party Saturday. Handles are sturdy and kept the ice mostly in tact and the contents cold from 9 a.m. till the next morning - and it was an 85+ degree day.
I opted for a cooler with no wheels because we are having a stand built to lift it waist high for easy access. This stand will have the wheels for mobility of the cooler around our pavilion. If however, you don't have plans on doing this type of alteration, I would suggest a cooler with wheels. When this big thing is loaded with ice and beverages it's next to impossible to lift. Of course you can drag it around but then you risk damaging the outer surface. I can't give it a lesser rating because of the weight when loaded and no wheels because I chose this with reason. We like it. It has almost flat surfaces for easy wipe down. The only thing I was looking for and couldn't find was a cooler without those damn can holder holes on the top. They get dirty and are terrible to keep clean and really - who uses that anyway????
Follow-up 10-24-12 While this cooler has lived up to and beyond my expectations - I did NOT pay a few cents less than $100 for it...I was looking over my reviews and saw that price and knew I had to make this known. I'm not sure if they lined it with gold since I purchased in the Summer - but I'd never pay that amount for a cooler.

Gets the job doneMay 14, 2010
By McViddles Lightweight, sturdy, seamless (and easy to clean), efficient.
I wish the handles were in a slip-channel so I didn't have to swing them 180 degrees into "up" position, but really I'm splitting hairs.
Solid item, and when on sale under $100, great value. I have four.

Great CoolerOct 19, 2012
By Jericho777 I do a lot of bait fishing and shrimping and need large coolers. I have the Coleman 100-Quart Marine Cooler & Igloo 165 Quart Max-Cold cooler and both have and are serving me well for their intended purposes. That is the key word here, intended Purpose...I place my 165 to the bow and 100 to my stern for easy access to drop my bait into and will and have rigged them up for live bait wells also, to serve for multi use coolers which are their intended use. I also keep ice in this unit and a 20 pound bag here in the humid and ridiculously hot South Carolina heat stays for about three days in this cooler and 40-50 pounds for 8 days in my Igloo Max-Cold. I also for this purpose have a custom made aluminum shelf that sets snugly within the cooler just inches above the 20-50 pounds of ice depending on which cooler I use, this keeps ice longer and my bait and other items out of the water and off the ice which causes rapid melting and water logged food and bait, it has 25 3/4 holes punched out through out the plate for my 100 quart cooler shown here and 47 on my 165 quart igloo for cold placement throughout the cooler, that also have 2-4x4 for the 100 qt and 2-5x5 hinged openings in the plate to pour the ice through, does a jam up job getting items cold quick and keeping them regulated and upward into the $40 range for the plate to my 165 qt cooler, a must have investment for serious users. The 165 cooler is set up with a portable 12 volt fan within it too draw the coldness from the installed plate? I need my bait rigid and cold but not frozen and this does a jam up job..
